Watch out for free glutamates in certain foods even if they are organic

High levels of free glutamate are found in dried seaweed , tomatoes , parmesan cheese, anchovies, fish sauce and mushrooms. Levels of free glutamate in parmesan cheese, a food with one of the highest levels of naturally occurring glutamate, contains about 1.3 grams of free glutamate per 100 grams. This is far less than what would be required to produce any adverse side effects (Note: some reports of side effects from MSG are at levels as low as 0.5 grams). Dried sea weed has a very high free glutamate value of 2240.0 mg/100g.

Symptoms of MSG/High Fructose Corn Syrup Poisoning

If you struggle with your weight and cannot seem to lose weight no matter what you do, or have the following diseases: diabetes, high blood pressure, depression,or a thyroid condition, you may actually be suffering from MSG poisoning. (If you have diabetes or high blood pressure, the free glutamates in the list I gave below will actually cross the blood-brain barrier and go directly to your brain, making these products twice as dangerous for you to consume.Glutamates are excitotoxins which overstimulate your nerve cells and cause them to die. Also, high fructose corn syrup in particular shuts off your body's natural mechanism which tells you when you are full, causing you to stay hungry and more than likely overeat as a result thereby leading to weight gain and it is also a very high glycemic food, which will spike your blood sugar dangerously high, higher even than regular table sugar.

Now, you might be thinking, well, I don't have any of those problems listed above, so I guess this does not pertain to me. Before you decide this does not apply to you, have you ever experienced any of the following conditions:

Heart Palpitations/Irregular heartbeat/Rapid Heartbeat/Mitral Valve Prolapse,Numbness or Paralysis,Chills or Shaking,Swelling of Hands,Feet,or Face,Joint Pain or Tendonitis,Dizziness or Light Headedness,Anxiety or Panic Attacks,A.D.D. or Bi-Polar symptoms, mood swings,Extreme Anger, disorientation,Seizures,Aching Jaws or Teeth,Frequent Sinus Infections,Diarrhea,Vomiting,or Excessive Cramping or Gas,Insomnia,Chronic Fatigue,Parkinson's Disease or Multiple Sclerosis,Restless Leg Syndrome,Ear Problems,Gall Bladder Problems,Hoarseness or Sore Throat,Acid Reflux,Hives,Rashes, Lesions or Sore in the mouth, tingling or numbness in hands or face or a burning or flushed feeling in the face or chest, pressure behind the eyes,Colitis,Irritable Bowel Syndrome,Uncontrollable Bladder or Prostate Swelling,Frequent headaches or migraines, persistent cough,Chest Pain or shortness of breath, balance problems, recurrent flu-like symptoms or bronchitis or post nasal drip, blurry vision trouble focusing or thinking you see shiny lights, abdominal discomfort, water retention or bloating?

If you frequently have any of these ailments, it may very well be because of ingesting the hidden glutamates (listed below this post) in your food that are slowly poisoning your body. I know we live in an instant gratification, fast-food society, but if you want to be healthy,(which is about more than just an absence of major diseases such as cancer, it is about quality of life) I beg you, please take the time to buy organic and actually cook meals at home. When you shop, the fewer ingredients, the better. If it does not occur in nature, it is not food !!! Please don't be a guinea pig ! Yes it may cost a bit more than the boxes of processed mac n cheese or the can of ravioli, or the frozen t.v. dinner, even the ones that are supposedly lean and " healthy" , but how much will it cost you in the long term on doctor bills, medications, and hospitalizations ? In the final analysis, it is much cheaper to just eat healthy in the first place.

Other names for MSG- THE LIST

These products contain the highest percentage of free Glutamates:Hydrolyzed Vegetable or Plant Protein,Autolyzed Plant Protein,Sodium or Calcium Caseinate,Textured Protein,Yeast Extract,Autolyzed Yeast,Vegetable Protein Extract,Mono Potassium Glutamate,Glutamic Acid,Gelatin.

The following products contain in varying amounts some factory created free glutamates:Malted Barley,Barley Malt,Barley Malt Flavoring,Dextrose,Maltodextrin,Caramel Flavoring or Coloring,Carrageenan,Whey or Whey Protein,or Whey Protein Isolate,Lecithin or Soy Lecithin(which is produced from the sludge leftover after soybeans are processed by the way Yum Yum ! ),Gluten and Gluten Flour,Soy Protein,Soy Sauce,Modified Food Starch,Corn Syrup or Corn Syrup Solids,High Fructose Corn Syrup,Guar and Vegetable Gum,Annatto,Dough Conditioners,Milk Powder and Dry Milk Solids,Rice Syrup or Brown Rice Syrup," Low Fat" or " No-Fat" items, most protein powders (as in body building drinks)and beware of things which say " natural flavorings" or " enriched, vitamin enriched, or protein enriched". These items may have less free glutamates than the top list, but when a product contains several of these ( and most processed foods contain 3 or more of these from my personal experience) then it really adds up to a dangerous laundry list of free glutamates that are harming your body.

High Fructose Corn Syrup is Evil !

Despite the commercials the corn producers of America have been playing on television, High Fructose Corn Syrup is bad for you and unlike the dim wits on the commercials who cannot explain why, some of us can.

The average American consumes an astounding 2-3 pounds of sugar each week, which is not surprising considering that highly refined sugars in the forms of sucrose (table sugar), dextrose (corn sugar), and high-fructose corn syrup are being processed into so many foods such as bread, breakfast cereal, mayonnaise, peanut butter, ketchup, spaghetti sauce, frozen foods and microwave meals.
Maltodextrin is also a refined product usually made from either corn or potatoes. It is very readily absorbed and has a very high glycemic index.
Dextrose is an industry term for glucose. Glucose is the most prevalent sugar in humans and is the only molecule that the brain can metabolize. Dextrose is refined from cornstarch. It has a very high glycemic index, as it is glucose!
High fructose corn syrup is made by treating corn (which is usually genetically modified corn) with a variety of enzymes, some of which are also genetically modified, to first extract the sugar glucose and then convert some of it into fructose. The result is a mixture of 55% fructose and 45% glucose, that is called ‘high fructose corn syrup.’
In 2001 CORN sweeteners (genetically modified) accounted for 55% of the sweetener market.
Consumption of high fructose corn syrup went from zero in 1966 to 62.6 pounds per person in 2001.
Per capita intake of refined sugar is almost 150 pounds a year. HFCS accounts for 51.7 pounds of that, and sucrose for 64.5 pounds, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. That translates to about 60 pounds of fructose per person.
Wonder why the obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes rates in America are off the charts in the past decade ? GEE I WONDER !
Also, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Maltodextrin,Dextrose,Corn Syrup Solids,Brown Rice Syrup,Malt Flavoring,ETC. are all clever ways to say Glutamate as in yes the evil Monosodium Glutamate better known as MSG which I mentioned below and which I believe is the number one thing poisoning our food supply and creating all the health problems Americans are facing these days.
Some of the problems associated with high fructose corn syrup:
Increased risk of Adult Onset Diabetes Mellitus (better known as Type 2 Diabetes)
Fructose inhibits copper metabolism leading to a deficiency of copper, which can cause increased bone fragility, anemia, ischemic heart disease and defective connective tissue formation among others.
Rapid Aging.
Altered Magnesium balance leading to increased osteoporosis.
Increased LDL’s (the bad lipoprotein) leading to increased risk of heart disease.
It is the worst form of sugar you can take in, it is off the charts on the glycemic index for those diabetics that are trying to keep up with that.
A good rule of thumb to live by if you want to be healthy : If it doesn't occur in nature, don't eat it !
